Food & Hospitality Africa 2017 takes the cake

March 2017 – The exquisite art of cake decorating will again be a big attraction at Food & Hospitality Africa powered by Hostex at Gallagher Convention Centre from 7 to 9 May, which can be experienced at the SA Cake Decorators Guild (SACDG) master decorators display and demonstration theatre.

The guild’s theme this year is ‘A Celebration’ and the sugar art will feature a wide range of skills including figure moulding, royal icing work, sugar flowers and more. Says Deon Swarts, Deputy President of SACDG, “The artworks for the show take weeks or even months to complete, and will be kept as a closely-guarded secret until revealed on our F&HA stand.”

Food & Hospitality Africa wins Best Trade Exhibition in inaugural ROAR Awards category

26 January 2017 – The first ever AAXO Organiser and Exhibitor Awards took place at TicketPro Dome last night, 26 January 2017…and we are thrilled to announce that Food & Hospitality Africa powered by Hostex was awarded Best Trade Exhibition in its size category (Category 1 – 6000sqm).

The next Food & Hospitality Africa (F&HA) Show, powered by Hostex, will be taking place from 7 May to 9 May 2017 at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand. Hostex – with a three decade track record – will in 2017 power Food & Hospitality Africa to present the industry with an extraordinary food expo.

The launch of Food & Hospitality Africa in 2016 was nothing short of remarkable. It was the first time the two trade shows co-located at Gallagher Convention Centre from 3 to 5 May, with 300 exhibitors from 28 countries worldwide showcasing their products and services to over 6 400 trade visitors. A whopping 99% of surveyed visitors in 2016 said they would return to the 2017 show which will continue to deliver key buyers.

Food & Hospitality Africa 2017 promises great value

Food & Hospitality Africa will be better than ever in 2017, with significant additions and improvements that will offer added value for both exhibitors and visitors, says Nick Sarnadas, Event Director with show organiser, Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery.

Food & Hospitality Africa will take place at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, conveniently located for the Gauteng market, from 7 to 9 May 2017.

“Our inaugural F&HA in 2016 – incorporating long-running Hostex and Africa’s international food and drinks expo, IFEA – was a success, featuring over 300 exhibitors from 28 countries and 11 official pavilions, as well as a slew of additional features such as our free-to-attend seminars, demonstrations, competitions, and more. We have evaluated every aspect of the first F&HA and are pulling out all the stops to make the 2017 exhibition even better,” says Sarnadas.

Bryan Montgomery Bursary Fund – the realisation of a dream

2016 has been nothing short of phenomenal for Adam Duncan, a student at the Silwood School of Cookery. He was announced as the most recent recipient of the Bryan Montgomery Bursary Fund at the inaugural Food & Hospitality Africa Show incorporating Hostex and IFEA, which took place from 3 to 5 May at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand.

The Bryan Montgomery Bursary Fund was created in honour of founding member Bryan Montgomery, who had a passion for all things culinary and did all he could to assist prospective students who faced budget constraints in terms of furthering their education. Hostex is honoured to have been awarding the fund through SACA annually since 2011.

The primary objective of this bursary fund is to offer financial support to culinary students. The fund offers R35 000 annually to one fortunate student who wishes to study at any SACA-approved culinary institution. The funding, which is paid directly to suppliers, assists in purchasing study aids such as text books, uniforms and cooking utensils. Applications for this bursary are viewed by a fund selection panel.

March 2017 – In just 50 days the doors will open on the second Food & Hospitality Africa powered by Hostex expo at Gallagher Convention Centre, which will run from Sunday 7 to Tuesday 9 May 2017!

“Since the inaugural F&HA in May last year, we have been shoulders to the wheel to make this event bigger and better, with more value to offer visitors and exhibitors,” says Nick Sarnadas, Event Director with show organiser, Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery.

He encourages industry players to log on to the official site to complete the simple pre-registration form ahead of the expo, ensuring no last-minute scramble, no missing out, no queues, and easy access to the largest Pan-African food, drink and hospitality trade expo of the year.
