This year’s Food & Hospitality Africa powered by Hostex showcase offers co-located events including Tea & Coffee Africa, Contract Furnishing Africa and The Drinks Cabinet; the show will play host to a number of visitor attractions including the National Barista Championships and displays by the members of the SA Cake Decorators Guild… plus a special visit from renowed local chef, Reuben Riffel.

Yes there will be food, and innovative cocktails but there is aesthetic inspiration within the halls of Hostex too! Many of our visitors are searching for new ideas or a new supplier for all their décor needs and Hostex is set to deliver!

Tea and Coffee Africa will be one of the prime hot spots at the Food & Hospitality Africa powered by Hostex expo – highlighting the big beverage trends, showcasing exciting new product offerings from the two favourite beverages in the world, and providing a platform for exciting competitions.

For the first time this year Tea and Coffee Africa – which is hosted by SCASA, the Speciality Coffee Association of SA – will feature a market area, bringing boutique tea producers, roasters, single origin and artisanal coffees to the attention of the food service and retail market as a burgeoning business growth opportunity.

Food & Hospitality Africa 2017 takes the cake


March 2017 – The exquisite art of cake decorating will again be a big attraction at Food & Hospitality Africa powered by Hostex at Gallagher Convention Centre from 7 to 9 May, which can be experienced at the SA Cake Decorators Guild (SACDG) master decorators display and demonstration theatre.

The guild’s theme this year is ‘A Celebration’ and the sugar art will feature a wide range of skills including figure moulding, royal icing work, sugar flowers and more. Says Deon Swarts, Deputy President of SACDG, “The artworks for the show take weeks or even months to complete, and will be kept as a closely-guarded secret until revealed on our F&HA stand.”

Food & Hospitality Africa wins Best Trade Exhibition in inaugural ROAR Awards category


26 January 2017 – The first ever AAXO Organiser and Exhibitor Awards took place at TicketPro Dome last night, 26 January 2017…and we are thrilled to announce that Food & Hospitality Africa powered by Hostex was awarded Best Trade Exhibition in its size category (Category 1 – 6000sqm).

Event Director for this Specialised Exhibitions tradeshow, Nick Sarnardas was delighted to accept the award on the show’s behalf and had this to say: “Acknowledgement by a respected industry association such as African Exhibition Organisers (AAXO) consolidates Food & Hospitality’s commitment to remaining the Pan African trade show of choice in our sector.”
